We always seem to have apples on hand which means there is usually a percentage that goes bad. I am always looking for new ways to use produce while I can. Last week, I received the ActiFry cooker for review and I wanted to try it with the ingredients I had on hand which just happened to be a bag of small Granny Smith apples, maple syrup and cinnamon. {All those healthy choices in the cookbook and I pick glazed apples. Oh well, good fiber!}
Pulling out my ActiFry, I prepped it as required, washing parts with a mild dishsoap. Cooking parts are also dishwashable. {Note: you never want to submerge the electrical base in water but you can wipe it down with a damp rag and dishsoap.}

8 small apples are cut and mixed with a Tablespoon of oil. (I added a splash more oil since I had 8 small apples instead of 4 larger ones.)

After 10 minutes of cooking, 2 Tbs maple syrup & 1 tsp of cinnamon are added. Again, I added more syrup for the larger # of apples but the cinnamon seemed sufficient for the amount.

I served the cooked apples with a little triangle of Brie cheese for a delightful, tasty treat. Raisins or apricots would have gone well with this dish also.
Next, I plan to try making sweet potato fries once I get to the grocery store this week. The apples keep their structure well which will be great when cooking fries. Yummoo!
{DISCLOSURE: I received the ActiFry for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.}

The instructions called for kneading the Gak on a plastic surface which also came in the box. As the girls played with it, it became more pliable and less "wet." It also shrunk.
The Gak was great for stretching, blowing bubbles, bouncing in smaller balls and making silly noises with when putting it back into the container.

And, then my other daughter returned from her European adventure to Paris, a gracious gift by my sister, and out came the Floam! My youngest went the simple route and made a beautiful basic flower.

With much art to inspire her, my oldest set to work replicating Monet's pond, a place she visited on her trip. She combined colors to get the effect she wanted. With some Floam still left over, she also made Van Gogh's Starry Night! I was pleasantly surprised with their Floam and Gak experience!
