In-Real-Life at the April #MomMixer

As my teen daughter gets closer and closer to the scheduled date to try for her license, I use every opportunity to have her drive to get the 65 hours in, required here in PA, before the official road test at the end of May.

Last Saturday offered up an especially sweet opportunity to visit with my blogging friends in-real-life (and hosts Colleen & Whitney) and let my daughter drive an hour into the city and an hour back. We made up a few errands to round out the hours since technically it was only 45 minutes each way but definitely a somewhat stressful path down a big, busy road, otherwise known as the Schuylkill (or 76) going into Philly.

We drove to the lovely Four Seasons and rather than drive around the block to find parking, we chose the uber-easy way of using the wonderfully efficient valet services.

At the event, several delightful sponsors offered delish mocktails and cocktails in addition to treats from CVS, chocolate from Hersey, coffee from McDonald’s in Philly.

We also learned more about the Philly 3-Day with Susan G Komen and tweeted to win 2 tickets to the Academy of Natural Sciences which my younger daughter will love!

We were given a fun bag of swag to take with us. I gave the Pampers to a fellow blogger going to see another blogger who just had a baby.

From CHARM IT! comes the opportunity for children under 14 can enter the  CHARM IT! Crayola Creativity Design-A-Charm Contest to design their own charm between now and May 21st.

After the event, my daughter and I had fun browsing the vintage flea market across the street and found one or two treasures there too. What a great mom-daughter day!
