In Real Life at Social Media Mom Mixer 2012

This last Saturday, I joined women from around Philadelphia and beyond at the Social Media Mom Mixer atop the historic Hyatt Bellevue Hotel. This event was held on the 19th floor where we socialized in the lovely XIX restaurant,  put on by the forever amazing Colleen Padilla and Whitney Wingerd .

I believe we were all glad to get out of the house after the terrors of Hurricane Sandy, from whom many are still recovering. (Here are ways to help or get help.) More than one story circulated about days without power, cold cuts and cold showers.

It’s always fun to be pampered in a beautiful place surrounded by delightful bloggy friends. This event certainly fulfilled all the requirements of a worthwhile reason to leave the house on Saturday, something I typically avoid, especially during NANOWRIMO (or National Novel Writing Month) during which I am writing my first ever novel this very month and really need every minute to write – even now. There’s nothing like seeing old friends though, women you have come to know through their blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+ and come to enjoy seeing at event after event. “In-real-life” beats the virtual hands-down!
